Even though I’m an ADHD Specialist, sometimes my ADHD gets out of hand. When I start losing things again, feeling panicked or anxious, having sleep problems, noticing ticks, forgetting simple things and other ADHD related issues, I have to look at when this started and what changed around that time.
In this case, it’s easy to pin point. I’ve been having an ongoing problem for 6 weeks and ADHD started acting up about 4 weeks ago on and off. Whenever there is something out of order in my life, ADHD happens.
In this case, the issue is out of my control for a few more weeks. It’s part of the process of being a small business owner. I knew this going in and I am going to endure just a few more weeks.
What can I do about it?
More than ever, I have to eat well (lots of protein and greens), exercise, get outside, meditate and take very deep breathes often in a day. Being compassionate, kind and forgiving to myself is important. I use melatonin to help me sleep and it’s crucial to continue having fun every day. Many people don’t realize that to the ADHD brain; FUN IS POWER!
No need to pull your hair out, it’s only temporary. Rarely does anything stressing us out this week, really matter in a year from now. Things have a way of smoothing themselves out if we can only be patient and wait.
So instead of staying home ruminating about this, I am going out dancing with a buddy tonight. I can never say no to dancing.
